It’s a big wide world out there, and with the chance to work beside so many wonderful people and in so many amazing places, it’s time for me to take to the skies…And so begins my world tour. I’m going to be doing guest spots in different studios and appearing at different conventions across the globe - this website will be my way of keeping in touch with you all, letting you know where I’ll be, what I’m up to and how you can get work from me. So I may be setting sail, but I’m taking you all with me, so let’s go…… Hope to see some of you on the way. Lots of love,Jo Harrison x

THE 13TH ANNUAL MOTOR CITY TATTOO EXPO

29th February- 2nd March, 2008

Detroit Marriot Renaissance centre, Michigan

Flying out of Birmingham made it hit home to me how much my life is going to change over the next few months, I had been so busy planning things that I didn’t really think about it. I will be going from being constantly booked up for months in advance to not really knowing what I will be doing from one day or week to the next! It’s both a scary and exciting time. I will miss my friends and family but I will also miss the regular clients who have turned into friends over the years but I am ready to meet new people and hopefully make some new friends. So I left a grey Birmingham and arrived in a white Detroit as it was covered in snow and freezing cold.

I worked this convention a few years ago and it was awesome so it has a lot to live up to, fingers crossed! I checked into the hotel, which is awesome, 70 floors with restaurants, shopping mall and convention centre in there!! I was on the 46th floor and the view was just breath taking. Across the lake was Cananda and the lake froze and defrosted each night and day and gave a different view every time I looked.

The convention was really busy, full of amazing work and I made some cool friends. I shared my booth with Dennis Pase who I have to say is one of the funniest people I have ever met and I am looking forward to seeing my BFG again!

So I was very lucky, I was really busy the whole show which meant I didn’t really get much time to look around but I did get to see some awesome work from Jeff Gogue, Tim Kern, Mike Devries and Nikko. Here are a selection of the tattoos I did…

After the convention I tattooed Tim Kern so we just have one more session to finish it I think and then I’ll post pics. Then back home for a week before coming back to the USA for the Reno convention.
